The Sikh Panth suffered a shattering back breaking blow in 1947 when Pandit Nehru collaborated with the Muslim leaders and sacrificed (surrendered) our Sri Nankana Sahib, Lahore and Gujranwala besides consigning all the Sikhs living across West Punjab to death in 1947.
It is a matter of great shame and regret that after being stunned initially by that lethal blow, the Sikhs have not yet recovered. The energy and attention is once again being diverted towards religion & fundamentalism at the cost of other activities and pursuits of a nation/community.
The biggest loss is that of dignity of the Chief Minister of Punjab who was unceremoniously shifted from Lahore to Union Territory.
Who can a Chief Minister be the part of his people and State while living outside his State?
We have [completely] neglected industry and manufacturing skills totally. We are totally blind to the achievements of the South Koreans, for example, and of course, Japan that has developed so fast despite past slavery and defeat. They have excellent leaders while ours are mediocre, dull and unimaginative, and even afraid of the Italian born "First Lady" of Hindustan.
Also neglected are sports - The hockey team, football team and teams in other disciplines from Punjab should be winning gold medals in the world.
Also neglected are schools and colleges. Why should anyone prefer a convent school to Khalsa School in our own East Punjab?
Use of drugs & alcohal indicates the downward fall and decrease in our political strength. As a result, our youth will be as useless for any struggle in the future just like the Chinese who lost the war against the British after getting addicted to opium a hundred years ago
Who is taking care of our growing children and youth, apart from parents with little or no resources and awareness?
